We now enter the final rounds of blocking. Notice the tape lines to maintain the 'sharp' body lines? This is the result of good body work. The decklid is prepped with sound deadener in the appropriate places. The body is lifted back off of the frame for painting. We've rolled it into the paint booth. The basecoat is applied. Followed by the clearcoat. We wet sanded the clear coat and will apply two more coats of clear to provide a mirror finish. How about 25 years of junk in the bottom of the master cylinder? The car is re-cleared and rolled back into the body shop to await wet sanding. The loose parts are set on a rack for 2-3 days prior to wet sanding. Someone needs to clean the ceiling of the shop, apparently. My legs are not that short--Tim. Look how smooth and even the clear is around the headlamp opening.
