We set the body back on the frame to test fit all of the panels. The doors are mounted. ![]() This door gap is as good as the current setup will provide and is unacceptable. We will repair the gap. This fender had been previously replaced and not well. ![]() The fender is sliced vertically, pushed back to close the door gap and re-welded. The hood to fender gap also had to be repaired... as did the left quarter to decklid gap. The cylinder heads are removed. The pistons and cylinder bores look good. This, believe it or not, is part of the factory service manual's procedure for removing the camshaft. Do you know how hard it is to find clothespins? The crankshaft journals are nice and clean. They will require just a bit of polishing and some new bearings. This is the oil pump. Check out the gray goo left after years of sitting.
