The build continues!

A replacement cowl top panel was sourced from a donor car, prepared, and welded in place.

The firewall is 'smoothed' with a template cut from 16 gauge metal. This will minimize flex during hard body torque and ensure no cracking of paint.

The floors were installed well, surprisingly, but required extensive cleanup to ensure a seamless appearance. Enter the grinders! The floor was then etched, followed by several layers of high-build primer. We wet-sanded the floor and painted with a single-stage black urethane paint for a clean appearance.

While the welding and grinding has been going on, we disassembled the classis and suspension. Almost every bolted on piece was discarded. The frame was sent for powdercoating. Upon returning, the bitchin' suspension pieces from Global West were installed, along with the Baer Brakes and an HCC Performance-built 12 bolt that will take the pounding the LS2 will provide. Tim and Terry make the final checks on the frame before it's covered for the bodywork phase.

The HCC Performance built 12 bolt (powdercoated, of course), Global West adjustable rear control arms, Big Giant Fat rear sway bar, and Koni adjustable shocks.

There's nothing worse than your perfectly shiny frame coated with primer. We've used aluminum foil to protect the frame and suspension while we prep and paint the body.
