The assembly of the front sheetmetal begins. The front sheetmetal assembled, all panels are adjusted to create perfect gaps. The blocking phase has begun, sanding endlessly to ensure smooth sides. The smoothness of this car is already evident, long before paint touches metal. The blocking complete, the car is rolled into the paint booth, and the first coat of PPG Hot Red is applied. After only one coat, it's evident that this car is going to be a Trooper's Dream. The first coat is lightly sanded to ensure that no scratches were missed. We want this right before the final coats of paint and clear are sprayed. The paint complete, this car turned RED! It is now put in line to await the plumbing and wiring of the LS2 crate motor sitting between the rails. A modified factory dash will ride below the windshield and display the most modern instrumentation. That instrumentation will be needed to monitor the LS2. NEXT PAGE |
