The rusted portions of the rear fenders have been removed and patched. Now it's time to make them look like new with some metal working. Who says restoration is fun? We get the privilege of blocking out the inside of the cab. While the body work is happening, the mechanicals are overhauled.These are the transmission internals in the parts washer. Here is the old Muncie 3 speed case. She's a beauty, huh? The engine internals after cleaning. Here is the engine block after vatting. The block is still very good so no boring is required. The engine is rebuilt with new rings, bearings, and gaskets. A fresh coat of GM blue is applied. The frame has been disassembled, blasted, and treated to a coat of chassis black. All of the wearable items such as bushings, bearings and steering linkage has been replaced while the major components of the chassis were blasted, inspected and recoated.
