The starter is finished just like the generator. The original distributor--note the vaccum advance. This is a '56 only unit and ours was no good. A lucky eBay found netted us a new-in-the-box NOS unit. The distributor will be disassembled, have the shaft polished, the bushings cleaned, the gear will be replaced and new points/condenser will be installed along with the vacuum advance. The point gap will be bench set then dwell will be verified during operation. The power steering pump back from powdercoating. All pieces are cleaned and inspected, all wearable items will be renewed. Here's the power steering pump overhauled and installed. The motor and transmission is in the frame, having been broken in on an engine test stand. We're now fitting brake and fuel lines. The steering gear has been powdercoated to look like natural cast iron. We're now going to reassemble it. Here's the power steering control valve. This was also powdercoated. Better than new. After all the work to straighten out the right front of the vehicle (remember the collisions) the air tube does not fit. We'll have to cut it and repair the angle slightly. When finished, there will be no way to tell we worked on it. While our body technicians fit the air tube, the mechanical guys turn the focus to the dash. The patch inserted, the tube is re-welded.
