![]() The Tempest was the Pontiac version of the Chevy Chevelle and will make a beautiful and unique street machine. ![]() The body is very solid and straight. ![]() This vintage Poncho is a great foundation for a high performance ride. Here is the Tempest after the teardown process. The floorpans look a bit worse than we anticipated. We replace them whether good or bad for safety, but we'd have liked better. Notice the supports welded in the door frames to maintain structural integrity once the body is on the rotisserie. The rust holes in the trunk pans were expected for a nearly 40 year old convertible. Even the professionals get surprised now and again. Notice the street signs fiberglassed into the front and rear floor pans. Sometimes we have to wonder how much work former owners incurred just trying to avoid repairing these vehicles correctly. Here is a better look at the floorboards.
